If you are on the standard $30 SuperGrok plan or a free Grok account, you will need to move up a tier before Grok Bot becomes available. Check your own account at grok.com, since eligible plans and their exact pricing can change as the product moves out of beta.
2. How to download and install Grok Bot
On a Mac, choose the Apple silicon or Intel download to match your machine, drag Grok Bot into Applications, then open it. On Windows, choose the x64 or Arm64 download, run the installer, then launch Grok Bot from the Start menu. An iOS app is also available, and xAI lists Android as coming soon.
Once it opens, select Get started on the welcome screen and finish signing in through the browser window that appears. Grok Bot signs in with your existing SuperGrok or Cursor account, so there is no separate password to set up.

3. How to create your first Grok Bot
Open the app and choose Create a New Bot, or pick a suggested teammate from the ready-made options xAI offers on first launch. Give it a short name, one primary job, and a plain description of how it should work.
xAI's own guidance is to keep each Bot focused on a single role rather than a general assistant that does everything. A narrow job gives the Bot more relevant context to draw on over time, and it makes it far easier for you to judge whether it is doing that job well.

Keep the first task small and low-risk: something like drafting replies to a handful of emails, pulling together notes from a public document, or checking a list of items against a simple rule.
